Blurrix stores product snapshots for barcode and domain scans and can create a cautious change event when packaging, claims, ingredients, nutrition, FoodScore, or packaging record data differs.

The same code does not promise the same label

A barcode is useful for finding a product, but it is not a promise that the package and formula will remain unchanged. Brands can revise ingredients, nutrition information, front-of-pack claims, images, or other presentation while keeping the same EAN. Blurrix has a Same-EAN Drift Watch that stores immutable snapshots for barcode and domain scans. When newly processed record data differs, the system can create a cautious product-change event covering packaging, claims, ingredients, nutrition, FoodScore, or packaging-analysis record data.

The word cautious is important. A change event is a signal that two recorded states differ. It is not a statement about why the manufacturer changed something, exactly when the shelf changed, whether every country received the same update, or whether the difference is commercially important. A photo may be clearer than an earlier photo. A catalogue entry may have been completed later. An ingredient list may be formatted differently while meaning the same thing. The history feature helps surface a difference worth checking; it does not supply a story that the record data cannot support.

Open the product detail and current package together when a change matters to you. Look first at the fields that have changed or are newly available: the ingredient list, nutrition table, product name and size, and any visible claim or packaging image. If the score has changed, inspect its dimensions and supporting input rather than assuming that the number alone explains the reason. A FoodScore update can follow new product data or a current scoring model, so the record context matters.

Packaging analysis has its own record data limits. Blurrix can analyze readable packaging record data when it has a usable image and enough visible information. If a front photo is missing, blurry, or insufficient, the product can receive an explicit analysis status instead of a confident interpretation. A change in this status may mean the available photo record data improved or worsened. It should not be read as a verdict about the product itself.

Label history works best alongside ordinary label reading. Use it to prompt a second look at a familiar product, especially when you are returning to something from scan history or comparing an older favourite with a new alternative. It can help you avoid assuming that yesterday's product record is automatically today's product record. It cannot remove the need to check the package you are about to buy.

Keep the conclusion proportional to the record data. If you see a change signal, compare the current label with the detail page and decide whether the difference affects your choice. If the information is unclear, do not infer a benefit, drawback, or motive. The useful action is simple: notice, verify, and use the current product information for the decision in front of you.

Snapshots preserve what the system recorded at a point in time, which makes a later comparison possible without claiming that either snapshot is the whole shelf history. The change event can reflect newly available data, a revised image, a different ingredient string, a nutrition update, a score recalculation, or a change in packaging record data. It identifies a recorded difference; it does not rank the old and new states.

Use a change signal as a prompt to read the field that matters to you on the current package. If the event concerns FoodScore, open the dimensions and input context. If it concerns packaging record data, check whether the image is actually readable and relevant to the variant in hand. This keeps the feature grounded in record data rather than speculation about a brand's intention.

The feature works best after a barcode or domain scan supplies record data for the same product identity. It does not promise an event for every packaging revision in every market, because it can only compare the snapshots Blurrix has recorded. A product can change without a new snapshot reaching the system, and a new snapshot can expose an older catalogue omission rather than a manufacturer change. Both situations are why the event remains cautious.

The current product page and the physical pack answer different parts of the question. The page can preserve recorded snapshots, available score context, and explicit analysis statuses. The pack shows the item being considered now. Compare the two when an ingredient statement, nutrition value, claim, image, or score input matters. Do not treat an absent event as proof that nothing changed.
