Peakspan: a Blurrix framework for functional ability
Peakspan is a Blurrix editorial framework. It gives us a plain-language way to discuss the abilities that support everyday life, such as moving, carrying, standing up and participating in activities that matter to someone. It is not a test, a validated endpoint or a measure of biological age.
Why function belongs in the conversation
WHO describes healthy ageing in terms of functional ability. Research on physical activity and resistance training has examined functional outcomes in specific groups, including older adults. That evidence does not allow a website to predict an individual's future function.
Use the term carefully
Peakspan is useful only if its limits stay visible. It does not replace clinical assessment, and it does not promise prevention or treatment. Read our methodology for the editorial standard.
